The list of films which are to enter the competition during the 36th Polish Film Festival in Gdynia – i.e. still the most significant among all overviews of Polish film productions – has been announced. Among the 12 carefully selected, there are not fewer than two motion pictures co-produced by the “Silesia-Film” Institution. The first one – “The Mole”, directed by Rafael Lewandowski, co-financed by the Silesian Film Fund, starring Borys Szyc, Marian Dziędziel and Wojciech Pszoniak – is a Polish and French co-production telling a story about a man accused of having collaborated with the communist secret police. The second one – “The Mill and the Cross”, directed by Lech Majewski and featuring such celebrities as Rutger Hauer, Michael York or Charlotte Rampling – has already been shown in several places all over the world, among others at Sundance Film Festival, and has been very well received by both Polish and international critics.
